My name is John McGovern, and I was born with Sturge Weber, Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome. I attended a school in Canton, Massachusetts for children with special needs known as “Massachusetts Hospital School”. I’m a fighter, and I’ve been presented with many challenges, but those difficulties have made me a much stronger person. I firmly believe in the statement, “It takes more than looking to really see.“ My favorite story about acceptance is “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”. My greatest source of comfort during difficult times is my friends and family. I’m always willing to share my story with others in the hope of spreading awareness.
